Fall cleaning.. just as important as spring!

Spring cleaning is a must after a long stuffy winter but Fall cleaning is just as important mamas! After a hot summer of mud pies, grass stains, chlorine-filled pools, and of course sweating… your mama den could probably use some TLC!
With our new house FAR from where we’d like to be on renovations, a little bundle of distraction and school starting I need a whole clean-up crew. Unfortunately that just isn’t in the budget. So as we finish up our Fall cleaning here are some tips and tricks for your own messes!
1. Room by room. It’s way easier to start and finish one room (or one weekend for bigger projects) before moving to another.
2. Start in the hidden areas. Clean out cabinets, fridges, desks or closets. FIRST. Take everything out,  wipes down area and then put everything back more organized.
3. Toss as you go. As you put things back away GET RID OF ANYTHING YOU DO NOT NEED. Seriously.
4. Donate, trash, sell. Get a donation box, a big trash bag and a small box for anything you think you should sell. This helps you get rid of things too, you don’t have to throw everything away just because you don’t need it.
5. Organize. As you clean each room and area organize it. It doesn’t have to look the prettiest either, organize it so it’s best for your family.
6. List it. Have a notebook or pad with you and write down things you need to fix, renovate or come back to later. I notice so much more when I'm cleaning and can’t handle it right then, so a big list to look at later insures everything gets done!
7. Clean like you mean it. Don’t just wipe everything. This is the time to really get everything. Scrub. Disinfect. Wash walls. Get every nook. It won’t be fun to do but you’ll feel better later, trust me.
8. This is a great opportunity to go through pictures on walls, movies, wash toys, get rid of too small clothes, everything. Room by room, do EVERYTHING. You will be left with a clean, organized and junk free home.
Thank you cards can be mailed. (;
Just kidding, but seriously.. get cleaning!! (:
In addition, after Fall cleaning is over and you want it to STAY clean a routine chart helps. I’m a stay at home mama right now so mine may look a bit different then yours but here is an example! I keep mine in my life binder, you can put your in the notepad of your phone if that works for you!!
